 READMISSIONS

Readmission Policies

  • All readmission cases are handled by the admissions office.
  • Applications for readmission will be considered individually.  Candidates must meet current academic and disciplinary standards in the school.

Readmission after a one semester or one year absences:

  • Students who leave the Quito area for one semester or one year may reserve their space / cupo in the school by paying a percentage of the current tuition.  Cupos may not be reserved for more than one academic year.  Details are available in the school’s finance office.
  • Prior to their absence, high school students must meet with the coordinator of the Program for Academic Support (PAS) in order to confirm the courses/credits that they must take during their absence from Colegio Menor.  This will help ensure that upon their return, they will be able to graduate with their current classmates.
  • Upon their return from abroad, students in grades 6 and above must have their grades legalized/certified in the Ministry of Education and submit these documents to the admissions office.  An academic committee will analyze the subjects/credits taken abroad and will accept the transfer of credits if the students’ grades meet the minimum academic standards of Colegio Menor.
  • Reserving a space / cupo in the school does not guarantee readmission.  Returning students must meet current academic and disciplinary standards in the school
  • After a semester or year absence, all students need to take admissions exams to confirm their academic level and determine, if necessary if they need tutoring.

Re-admission after an absence of more than one year:

  • All applicants must submit copies of the final report cards for the years they spent away from Colegio Menor.  Students in grades 6 who studied abroad must have their grades legalized/certified in the Ministry of Education.
  • Applicants to grades 1 to 12 will take math, Spanish, and English tests.
  • Applicants to grades 3 to 12 will participate in an interview with the area director and/or counselor.

Colegio Menor reserves the right to change its admissions policies if deemed to be in the best interests of the institution.
