LIBRARY AND MEDIA CENTER
The Library and Media Center at CMSFQ is the center for the selective compilation, classification and exhibition of books, magazines, newspapers and publications in general; it also includes videos, CDs and other available resources on the EBSCO database. These are available, in English and Spanish, for teachers, administrative and service staff, parents, and students for research and entertainment. The center is a key for curriculum development in the learning process, an ideal tool for research, and a cultural and artistic agent within the community.
Mission
To contribute to the improvement of the quality of education in liberal arts through the encouragement of research, critical reading and writing, art, culture and the shaping of values in all its users.
Vision
To be a model school library for the support of the total development of its community, acting as a leader for similar local libraries.

1. Foster an inclusion policy of the library into the life of the school.
2. Optimize and develop the use of available resources both in Colegio Menor and the library of the USFQ.
3. Maintain clear, ongoing communication both with the school community and the community at large.

Standard 3: Teaching and Learning
o 3.10 Provide sufficient information and media services for instruction and curriculum development.
o 3.11 Ensure that all students and staff members have regular and ready access to instructional technology and a comprehensive materials collection that supports the curricular and instructional program.
· Policies approved by the Library Committee in relation to donations, acquisitions/, selection, physical organization, and discards.
Library Hours: In the library section for elementary grades, a schedule will be established at the beginning of the school year for playgroup to 5th grade. The students will visit the library to participate in activities related to the readings and will receive instruction on using the library and checking out books available for borrowing. In addition to the scheduled activities, classes may utilize the library areas by registering at the circulation desk, and individual students may also use the library with permission in writing from their teachers.
· For other academic sections, the library will be open from 8.00h to 15.45h, Monday to Thursday, and 8.00h to 15.00h on Fridays, with the exception of holidays or other days decided upon by the administration.
Internet Searches and Data Bases: The library maintains an internet service and a printing service for its users.
· The Library also provides a special consulting service with the data base EBSCO 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As parte of ACCAS, the base is available for use by parents, students, teachers, and administration both within Colegio Menor and by remote access with the code: ID: colegio, PASSWORD, menor.
